Is There Room for One More Unicorn?

How many times did your child change his mind about what he wanted to be for Halloween? The dutiful parent seizes the first idea and goes into a flurry sewing, acquiring and gluing only for the following results: 1) Your child tears off the costume the minute she gets to the party or 2) The day before Halloween he says something like this: "I don't want to be a witch anymore. I want to be a tomato."

OK, I'm not the first one to think of this, but having a few costumes in the dress up bin, like this unicorn one, really pays off at the last minute.

Michelle,
I decided last year to just get "dress up" clothes and they will figure out what they will be, With three girls they changed a total of 9 times... EACH.

These Folks Deserve a Night Out

about the blog author:

Michelle Nicholasen
I am a mother of five children, now aged 10, 11, 11, 11, and 14. This blog is inspired by the book I wrote with Barbara O'Neal, the Educational Director of Arlington Children's Center. But the blog's main purpose is to share creative ideas for managing the wacky, frustrating, often irrational behaviors of little kids. The blog is growing with my children, so the issues I am writing about today reflect the development of tweens and teens.
